Since 21/01/2026 a self-employed carer can hold their own Enhanced DBS check with the Adults' Barred List. Nanum is building the layer on top: one verified profile, visits near you from more than one provider, and an end to starting your paperwork from scratch every single time.
Being straight with you: freelancer matching is not switched on yet. Applying now gets you verified and puts you first in line when your area opens. It costs nothing, and no provider sees you until your checks are done.

Going back to the same people counts
Continuity is one of the things the matching weighs. The clients you have visited before are the ones you get offered again — which is better for them and steadier for you.
Your rate is between you and the provider
Nanum does not employ you and does not set your rate. We are not going to print an hourly figure on a marketing page and let you find out later that it was someone else's.
Five things have to be true before anyone can see you
Not five things we invented. These are the checks a UK domiciliary provider is required to satisfy itself about, and until all five are green on your profile you are not listed to a single one of them.
Who you are
Photo ID and proof of your address. Standard identity evidence — the same documents any employer would ask to see.
Enhanced DBS with the Adults' Barred List
The certificate itself. If you are on the DBS Update Service, that too — it is what turns a three-week wait at your next provider into a status check.
Right to work in the UK
A Home Office share code, or the documents, whichever applies to you.
References
Recent care-sector references. A registered manager carries the most weight.
Your own insurance
Public liability cover in your name. You are self-employed here, so the cover has to be yours, not a provider's.
